The Benzie County Central Board of Education unanimously approved policy updates and forms related to Title IX and the Michigan Earned Sick Time Act at its Nov. 10 meeting.
Superintendent Erfourth presented the revisions from the policy committee, saying the Title IX update (3118) was revised "to be consistent with the FBI's definition of sexual assault," and that the ESTA policy (4113) and two related forms (4113‑F‑1 and 4113‑F‑2) were updated to clarify leave units and internal checklists. Each of the four items passed on recorded votes of 5–0.
Board members said the changes were primarily procedural updates to align district forms and definitions with state and federal guidance. The board did not debate the underlying definitions at length during the meeting; the motions were brought forward and approved as presented.
The votes clear the way for administrative implementation of the updated forms and staff guidance; the board did not set additional directives or implementation deadlines during the meeting.
