Bridgman board opens meeting, approves agenda additions, minutes and coaching hire

President Eric Ramso called the Bridgman Public School District Board of Education to order at 6:47 p.m. Jan. 6 in the Bridgman High School media center. Members present were Eric Ramso, Wayne Hall, Tishia Roberts, Brad Owen, JoAnn DeMeulenaere, Nancy Hawley and Tom LaVanway; there were no absences.
Member Tishia Roberts moved, supported by Member Brad Owen, to add three items to the agenda: E5 (Berrien Community Foundation For Good Grant), F2 (approve Spencer Carr for 7th Grade Girls Basketball Coach, Level 7, $3,422) and G1 (approve the Berrien Community Foundation For Good Grant in the amount of $13,000). The board approved the agenda changes 7-0. The board then reviewed the Dec. 15, 2025 regular meeting minutes and recorded no corrections.
Later in the meeting the board approved the consent agenda, which included the Dec. 15 minutes and the hire of Spencer Carr as the 7th-grade girls basketball coach at $3,422 (Level 7). That motion, made by Roberts and supported by Owen, carried 7-0. The meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m. after a motion by Member Owen, supported by Member DeMeulenaere, which also carried 7-0.
