The Bridgman Public School District Board of Education met in a special session on Nov. 6, 2025, and voted to go into closed session at 5:02 p.m. under MCL 15.268(f) to review and consider applications for employment. Member Nancy Hawley moved the motion, which Member Tom LaVanway supported; the roll call recorded seven yes votes (Eric Ramso, Wayne Hall, Tishia Roberts, Brad Owen, JoAnn DeMeulenaere, Nancy Hawley and Tom LaVanway) and the motion carried 7-0.
After reconvening in open session at 6:00 p.m., the board considered which applicants to advance and, by a unanimous vote, selected candidates numbered 5 and 6 for interview. The motion to select those candidates was made by Member Nancy Hawley and supported by Member Wayne Hall and carried 7-0. The minutes record that the closed session purpose was explicitly "for the sole purpose of reviewing and considering applications for employment" per the cited statute, MCL 15.268(f).
