The Cedar Springs Board of Education convened a special meeting March 16 at 6:00 p.m. Board President Reed called the meeting to order at the Cedar Springs ECC/DO Building. Members present were Bowser, April Patin, Reed, Shoffner, Slager and Willett; member Gilmore was absent. The board adopted the meeting agenda on a motion by Bowser, supported by Willett; the motion carried 6-0.
The minutes show the board entered a closed session under the Open Meetings Act, Section 8(b), to consider student discipline. After the closed session, the board recorded two formal discipline outcomes: expulsion of student case 25.26.05 (with reinstatement eligibility after 180 school days) and suspension of student case 25.26.06 through the end of the 2025–26 school year, with an expected return on Aug. 26, 2026. The meeting closed at 7:04 p.m.; April Patin signed the minutes as Board Secretary.
