Staff explained the grant would provide up to $10,000 to cover attorney reviews, consultant assistance or other technical services to audit and revise building and development ordinances to comply with state requirements on affordable housing. "This grant provides $10,000 of funding that could be used for attorneys ... and could also be used for consulting services ..." staff said.
The board discussed assigning administration to the planning board for project oversight, using attorneys for ordinance drafting, and coordinating with the regional planning organization (GPCOG). A motion to direct the town manager to apply for the municipal ordinance-development grant was made and approved.
