School board co-chair outlines staffing shake-up and says February vote is goal for new elementary project

"She has agreed to stay on and bring to conclusion and bring to vote the elementary school construction project because she has ... relationships with the architects and with the committee that's working on it," the co-chair said.
Board members asked whether the town would know the selected site before voting; the co-chair said the district is negotiating or has negotiated price on a site and that the goal is to put the project to voters in February, but that location details are being kept confidential during negotiations. The co-chair also described recruitment for interim superintendent and assistant superintendent roles and said routine monthly attendance reporting and incentive programs have helped improve chronic-absence figures since the COVID low point.
