The Bridgman Public School District Board of Education voted unanimously Nov. 19, 2025, to invite Thomas Reed, principal of Otsego High School, back for a final round of interviews in the district's superintendent search. The board set the final interview for Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
President Eric Ramso led a deliberation of the two candidates, during which trustees discussed the positives and concerns of each finalist before deciding to pursue a second interview with Reed. The board had earlier recorded interviews with Dr. Sarita Stevens, deputy superintendent of South Bend Public Schools, and with Reed during the special meeting.
Member Nancy Hawley moved to bring Reed back for a final interview; Member Brad Owen supported the motion. The motion carried 7-0, recording a unanimous board decision to schedule the additional meeting. The motion and vote are recorded in the meeting minutes.
The district's search consultant, Andy Ingall of MLI, confirmed Reed's availability and provided guidance on how the final-round day could be structured and a set of optional activities the board could choose to include; the minutes note that Ingall "gave the board instruction of how the final round will take place and options of activities the board can decide to engage in that day," but the minutes do not specify which options the board selected.
According to the minutes, no public comments were offered at the special meeting. Minutes were taken by Molly Owen, superintendent secretary. The board adjourned the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
