The board approved organizational items for the 2026–27 fiscal and meeting year, including the July 2026–June 2027 meeting calendar and the designation of Amy McCarthy to post board meeting notices. It named Independent Bank, Argent Institutional Bank (formerly Huntington Bank) and Michigan Liquid Asset Fund (MILAF) as official depositories and authorized signatures of the Superintendent, CFO, Board President and Treasurer on official bank signature cards.
The board also voted to retain Thrun Law Firm for elections, special education and bond counsel; Clark Hill for negotiations and other legal concerns; and Teeples Law for construction contracts. Vredeveld Haefner LLC was designated as the 2026–2027 auditor, and Barb Gust was named recording secretary. The motion to adopt these organizational items carried 6-0.
