The Gull Lake Community Schools Board of Trustees unanimously approved a two-year teacher contract on May 8, 2026, covering the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years. The agreement includes a 6% salary increase for Year 1, to be paid retroactively, and a 4% salary increase for Year 2; eligible employees will continue to receive step advancements.
Superintendent Christopher Rundle presented the contract and Deputy Superintendent Lisa Anderson reviewed an associated sick day buyback pilot that will begin in 2026–27. Under the Letter of Agreement employees must retain at least 50 sick days in their personal sick bank to participate; the District will pay $75 per sick day. District staff stated that 46 staff members are currently eligible to participate. The motion to approve the contract was moved by Vice President Desiree LaDuke and supported by Secretary Mini Paulose-Murphy; the motion passed unanimously among trustees present.
The contract ratification follows standard labor-negotiation steps the district indicated it had taken with the Gull Lake Education Association. No public comments were recorded at the meeting. The Board listed Carole Mendez, Mini Paulose-Murphy, Desiree LaDuke and John McCann as present and adjourned at 7:43 a.m.
