Grosse Ile High School students to present $7,500 donation to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital

Grosse Ile High School student-council representatives reported that a recent charity week raised $7,500 for C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and said University of Michigan representatives will join the school on Thursday, May 30 to accept the gift. The update was presented to the Grosse Ile Township Schools Board of Education during its April 28 meeting.
“Students school wide participated in raising money for C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. On Thursday May, 30th, representatives from The University of Michigan will be joining us at GIHS to receive the donation of $7,500.” The student representatives made the announcement as part of the Student Council segment of the agenda. The board did not take a formal vote on the donation during the meeting.
Board members heard the report along with routine business and bond-related items. The donation underscores student-led philanthropy in the district and a planned public presentation on May 30 at Grosse Ile High School.
