Seawall Art Show returns Aug. 22–23 with juried exhibits and $6,000 in prizes

Barbara Byers, a show organizer, said the Seawall Art Show marks its 54th year on the first few blocks of High Street by the water on Aug. 22–23, with artists from along the East Coast and beyond. "We have $6,000 in prizes and the judge ranks them according to the different kinds of... medium they are," Byers said, describing juried awards and a professional judge who visits each artist.
Byers said the show includes oil paintings, watercolor, photography, stained glass, jewelry and ceramics, plus live musical entertainment near the Portsmouth Visitor Center, vendor food options from High Street restaurants and a student art show of 17 middle- and high-school artists judged for monetary prizes.
