Morrisville officials on July 28 celebrated the town's selection as a 2026 All-America City by the National Civic League and detailed next steps for community recognition and a modest branding rollout. Erin Hudson, the town's communications and outreach director, told the council the designation reflects sustained staff and resident work on civic engagement, language-access planning and program innovation.
"And guess what? We won," Hudson said during an extended presentation of the town's application and final-stage competition work. She described a 21-person delegation to the finals (four elected officials, nine staff and eight community members) and explained the application required describing local impact projects, civic capital and a 10-minute presentation judged against national peers. Hudson said staff would offer transparent cost figures for FY26 program participation and FY27 proposed branding and rollout expenses and recommended a public recognition event on Monday, Aug. 10 at Morrisville Community Park.
Council members praised staff work and said the award carries practical benefits as well as civic pride. Hudson told the council the All-America City competition can increase tourism and grant opportunities for winners and said prior recipients report help with business attraction and resident recruitment. The council did not take formal action on the branding costs at the July 28 meeting; staff said they would return with more detailed budget items and plans.
