Ionia County Career Center pauses Healthcare Foundations; diesel program gains partner interest

Ted Paton, director of the Ionia County Career Center, told the board the Healthcare Foundations program has been suspended for a year because the district lacks an instructor. The minutes quote the report: "Due to not having a Healthcare Foundations Instructor, have put the program on a 1-year hiatus."
Paton said many affected students were able to transfer into other classes. He also reported that the Diesel Summer-Based learning program has been successful and that AIS, a partner organization, "would like to implement a program similar to the Career Center's across the State." Finally, he noted that unused equipment was hauled away for scrap, generating additional funds for the Career Center.
