Legislature approves term-and-supply contract with Logicalis for county technology services

The Jackson County Legislature on April 13 discharged a contract from committee and approved an eight-month term-and-supply agreement with Logicalis Inc. to provide technology hardware, Microsoft 365 licensing and professional services for multiple county departments.
The county executive described the scope as including Microsoft 365 licensing (Exchange/SharePoint/Office apps), leased PCs and desktops, network hardware and virtual-server software plus professional services for escalated support. “What we purchased through the Logicalis term and supply contract is several things. It's the Microsoft 365 licensing, email, SharePoint, Word, Excel...we have several leased PC devices or laptops and desktops through this contract,” the county executive said.
The legislature voted to discharge the item from committee and then adopted it as a whole; the clerk recorded a roll call showing seven yes votes and two members absent. Legislators asked the executive to follow up with the vendor about device performance and overheating concerns noted by staff and members during discussion.
The sponsor listed in the agenda text was Donna Payton; the contract was referred to the finance and audit committee before discharge to the legislature as a whole for final adoption.
