Director of Business Services Amanda McElroy presented a recommendation to use a portion of the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Excess Fund Balance to provide one-time retention and performance stipends for Food Service staff totaling $24,612.00. "The recommendation is to utilize a portion of our Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Excess Fund Balance to provide one-time retention and performance stipends to our Food Service staff for the total amount of $24,612.00," McElroy said, and she added that the proposed stipend amount has been submitted to and approved by the State.
McElroy said the item will be presented at the Negotiations/Personnel Committee for further review. The proposal is framed as a retention and performance measure funded from excess MDE balances rather than ongoing operational budget lines; the Committee received the recommendation as informational pending that committee review.
