The superintendent (presenting the superintendent's report) updated the board on ongoing state and federal budget activity and district operational items. She said the House passed a partial budget and a continuing resolution will fund the federal government through Sept. 30, 2025; that next year's Title dollars are likely the most at risk for reductions and should be considered in projecting next year's budget.
On capital and operational items the superintendent said athletic fields are progressing, the aquatic center is in a value‑engineering phase with plans to bid over the summer, and some cabling work at Central High will need to be completed outside the bond scope. She also noted the district sent student/parent/staff engagement surveys and will review results with the success coach next week, and that a separate immersion‑program survey (Chinese and Spanish) had technical issues with some respondents being exited; Hanover will correct the survey data. She reminded the public that absentee ballots for the May 6 election become available March 22 and emphasized the operational millage is important to the district's per‑pupil funding.
