Following a closed session convened under Public Act 267 of 1976, Section 8(1)(b), the Lakeshore Public Schools Board of Education moved to expel Student #99 for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year. The motion to expel was made by Trustee Jason Beckrow and supported by Trustee Bill Scaletta; the minutes record that the board approved the expulsion and set conditions for readmission.
The board specified that readmission may be sought beginning April 6, 2026, provided the student meets specified conditions: documented academic progress; documented attendance with a district-provided social worker; parental agreement to conduct and participate in a special education evaluation; and the board highly recommended continued services through current mental-health support specialists. The board entered closed session at 6:04 p.m. for the disciplinary discussion and returned to open session at 8:00 p.m. before taking the expulsion vote.
