ISD will lead if local districts switch from Skyward to PowerSchool, superintendent says

Superintendent Ethan Ebenstein told the board Sept. 11 that several of the ISD's local districts are considering a move from the Skyward student information system to PowerSchool. "Local School districts are considering transitioning away from Skyward, their current Student Information System (SIS), to PowerSchool. If and when they do so the ISD will move forward in leading and supporting the transition," Ebenstein said.
Ebenstein flagged this change as a potential multi‑district initiative; no formal action was taken at the meeting. Board members received the update as part of the superintendent's administrative report, and staff indicated the ISD would provide leadership and coordination if districts decide to migrate.
