Committee forwards multiple appointments including arts, charter and hospital authority nominees

Eileen Behan, a former council member reappointed to the Charter Revision Commission, said the charter "is the constitution for our government" and stressed the value of historical memory in commission deliberations. Dewey Branstetter recounted long service on the charter commission and the school board and said he would continue to contribute experience. The committee also moved forward hospital authority reappointments: Dr. Raymond Buzz Martin described leadership changes and improved finances, and Dr. Courtney Pitts said she brings nursing perspectives to compliance and advancement work. Will Aika, nominated to the Social Services Commission, described his nonprofit Corner to Corner that trains entrepreneurs and said his program has graduated about 2,000 participants.
