The Ionia County Intermediate School District Board of Education unanimously approved its consent agenda on Sept. 11, which included approval of prior meeting minutes, acceptance of vouchers totaling $1,515,166.08 (August) and $2,003,435.50 (September), and several personnel additions. Board President Linda Hoxie‑Green moved to approve the consent agenda; Treasurer Brian Talbot supported the motion and a roll‑call vote carried it unanimously.
The personnel approvals listed hired staff across classrooms and student services: Abby Thelen (behavior coach); Heather Beckett (DHH interpreter); Helen Carigon, Zoey Firovich, Meghan Laughry and Evelyn Rockey (health care aides); Grieg Giesseman (paraeducator at IC3); Danielle Haskins (clinical assistant); Lisa Hervey (school psychologist); Riley Jo Fleming and Jamie Hickey (school social workers); and Sara Preston (special education teacher). The board approved the personnel updates as part of the consent agenda without separate discussion. The vote was recorded as unanimous.
