District reports NWEA gains, mobile CTE lab success and new middle‑school IXL use

Elementary and middle/high reports showed NWEA benchmark gains (elementary reading 36.2%→43.8%, math 36.8%→49.5%; middle/high reading +12 points, math +7 points); the Mendon Foundation fundraising campaign and a successful mobile CTE lab visit were also announced.
Elementary and middle/high school leaders reported assessment gains and recent programs at the Oct. 20 meeting. Elementary administrator Angie Crotser said September NWEA reading results rose from 36.2% last year to 43.8% this year and math from 36.8% to 49.5%; she said initiatives in place will continue to be important. At the middle/high level, Bobby Kretschman reported benchmark increases since spring—reading up 12 percentage points and math up 7—and said IXL has been added to support middle school students.
Kretschman also announced the Mendon Foundation fundraising campaign and described a successful mobile CTE lab visit for 7th‑ and 8th‑graders. The minutes record positive turnout for parent/teacher conferences and community events such as Parents’ Night and the Hall of Fame induction.
