Board approves student field trips to SVSU, Costa Rica and Mystic Lake; accepts trust donation

Mason board approved three field trips — Mason Middle School robotics to Saginaw Valley State University (April 16–18, 2026), Mason High School science trip to Costa Rica (June 2027) and Mason Middle School 7th grade trip to Mystic Lake (Oct. 12–16, 2026) — and accepted a donation from the Eleanor Brownell Trust.
The board approved multiple overnight and out‑of‑state field trip requests. Approved trips include Mason Middle School Robotics to Saginaw Valley State University, April 16–18, 2026; Mason High School science students to Costa Rica in June 2027; and Mason Middle School seventh graders to Mystic Lake, Oct. 12–16, 2026. Each motion passed unanimously, 7-0.
The board also accepted a donation from the Eleanor Brownell Trust; the donation was approved by motion and recorded in the minutes. Committee review of trips and superintendent‑approved donations took place through the Policy and Community Committee.
