Jennifer McKay, Executive Director of Business and Finance, told the board that purchasing devices in March could save the district money compared with a typical July order. "Due to the anticipated increase in the cost of these items, this recommendation is being brought to the Board in March, with the intention of saving the District a considerable expense with the typical July purchase," McKay said in presenting the recommendation.
The minutes state the district will purchase FY27 Chromebooks through the REMC consortium via People Driven Technology for $145,012.50 from the General Fund, and FY27 teacher laptop replacements through the same consortium and vendor for $22,554.84 from the General Fund. Both purchases were approved as part of the consent grouping.
