Jennifer McKay, Executive Director of Business & Finance for Marysville Public Schools, presented the results of competitive bids for the district's Elementary Schools Remodeling Project funded by the 2025 bond. McKay told the Board the district received separate low bids across trades including demolition, masonry, carpentry, HVAC and electrical; she reported a "TOTAL AWARD RECOMMENDATION AMOUNT $2,824,590.00" and said the Board will be asked to approve the awards at the regular March 19 meeting.
McKay provided line-item awards including a $284,900 award for demolition to Blue Star, Inc.; a $117,300 masonry award to Byers D.C. Detroit, Inc.; a $460,925 carpentry/general trades recommendation to Hicks Construction Co.; a $480,000 HVAC recommendation to Miller-Boldt, Inc.; and a $467,804 electrical recommendation to Advance Contracting & Electrical Service. McKay emphasized the recommendation is to the lowest qualified bidders and that bonds or alternates were noted for several divisions. The Board took no final vote on the bids at this informational meeting.
