Director of Business and Finance Jennifer McKay presented the results of the access-point bid and recommended awarding the HPE Juniper/Mist wireless-system contract to Auxiom LLC for $177,840, to be paid from the General Fund. McKay told trustees the recommendation reflected the strength of the hardware, long-term scalability and total cost of ownership rather than the lowest bid alone.
The Board included the award in its consent grouping and approved it unanimously. The purchase is intended to modernize wireless infrastructure districtwide and was presented alongside other technology and capital requests during the Feb. 19 meeting.
