Board members used their comment time to highlight two themes from the presentations: leadership development and community engagement at Cherry Creek, and curricular modernization at Marquette Senior High School. Eric Smith told presenters he was "really glad to see these course changes that you're proposing and to see that the District is not standing still," and he praised the elementary school’s work to build relationships that will support students as they advance.
Trustees including Cassidy Thomas, Cherryl Maddox-Smith and Jennifer Ray echoed those points, thanking staff and principals for focusing on leadership skills, community involvement, and preparing students for college and CTE pathways. Board President Kristen Cambensy closed the meeting by thanking Cherry Creek for hosting the session. The board also noted upcoming dates including Spring Count Day on Feb. 11 and the next regular board meeting on Feb. 16.
