Student representative Yael DeBoni updated the Manistee Area Public Schools Board on April 8 with a summary of recent student achievements. "Bands received all I's," DeBoni reported; the band also qualified to apply for a national band festival next year. She added that Esports is in the playoffs, NHS is producing ceramic mugs with Port City Brew, and both middle- and high-school councils are planning Field Day.
DeBoni also said theater staff are pursuing a grant for a middle-school musical and a summer theater camp, and robotics has been competitive enough to serve as alliance captains in two events. Regarding Science Olympiad, DeBoni said the team is "hoping for a few top finishes" and is pursuing further events to try to qualify for national competition.
