Building principals provided routine operational updates to the board. Julianna Schmid reported for Olpe High School and Olpe Elementary on civic engagement activities, band and music performances, Veterans Day essays, a Sports Officiating class for juniors and seniors, and use of the KSDE Transition Table Generator Tool to analyze ELA and math assessment results. Lewis Whitson reported on Hartford High School and Neosho Rapids Elementary activities including choir acceptance, conference awards, family engagement events, Future Maker Labs participation, athletics and professional learning communities.
Superintendent Ryan Muhlig also reported on the proposed 2025–26 district calendar and told the board that closures at Holiday Resort and Tyson will affect four families in the district. No board action was taken on the calendar at the Dec. 11 meeting; the report was informational.
