Southern Lyon County board approves hires and updates substitute pay

The Southern Lyon County USD #252 Board of Education approved several personnel recommendations and a change to the substitute pay schedule at its Dec. 11 meeting. The hires approved were: Terry Smith (substitute teacher and substitute bus driver), Nathan Nance (substitute teacher), Jillian Stanley (part-time Early Childhood para), and Bridget Judd (part-time Early Childhood student worker). The motion to approve the recommendations was made by Ryan Gasche and seconded by Brad Hoelting; the minutes record the vote as 6–0.
The board also approved updates to the Substitute Teacher Salary Schedule in a separate motion moved by Ryan Gasche and seconded by Melissa Carson; that motion likewise passed 6–0. No dollar amounts for the schedule changes are included in the minutes.
