Southern Lyon County board accepts resignations and approves multiple hires

During the personnel portion of the Aug. 14 meeting the board accepted four resignations and approved a slate of recommendations. The resignations accepted included Payton Roelker (Part-time Daycare Para, NREC), Ali McCarthy (Full-time Daycare Para, NREC), Ariyanna Brown (Full-time Daycare Para, OEC) and Amanda Torrens (High School Boys Track Coach, HHS); the motion to accept resignations passed 5-0.
The board also approved recommendations that included hires and assignments such as Morgan Bolen (Co-Sponsor, Sophomore Class at HHS), Trenna Whitmore (Head JH Volleyball Coach), Ryker Schmidt (Building Tech at OE) and multiple part-time and full-time early childhood paraeducators. The minutes list a number of remaining open positions districtwide and several coaching and support vacancies that administrators said they are continuing to recruit for.
