During public comment Olivia Herrell, representing the Daughters of the American Revolution, told the Fiscal Court that the organization is partnering with the Kentucky Historical Society and the Conservation District to plant liberty trees in each county as part of America's 250th anniversary activities. She said Judge Bates and Deputy Buchanan provided and potted two trees that will be planted near the courthouse and dedicated.
Herrell also reported that the Henry County Historical Society has secured donations for a Revolutionary War memorial from United Citizens Bank & Trust Co. and Ballard's Hardware and asked for additional community support. The Court received the announcement during the public‑comment portion of the meeting; no action was taken at that time.
