The board received arts and student‑life reports at the April 13 meeting. Supt. Cook relayed Sarah Nietupski's report that the Jazz Band and student ensembles performed at Spaghetti & Swing on March 19 with about 200 people in attendance, and that a mattress fundraiser sold 37 mattresses to support new drumline equipment. The district also has upcoming music events including JH Solo & Ensemble and the band trip to New York City April 28–May 2.
Student Council and Leadership reported plans and recent activities: Student Council is organizing Thrill & Chill for May 12 and teacher appreciation week; Leadership assisted 5th graders with a “Life in the City” event, hosted lock‑ins for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Arnold, supported the Jackson County Animal Shelter 'Stuff the Bus' drive, and coordinated a district Awareness Day covering addiction, grief, coping and recovery.
