The Nov. 10 meeting included multiple recognitions and brief public comments. Staff and volunteers were acknowledged for recent activities: the PTO for fundraising and events, staff who ran the 6th-grade camp, organizers of Arnold's Breakfast with Veterans, and staff who support students with AAC devices.
During public comments, Debbie Chambers of the MC Lioness Club reminded the board that the club is providing monthly $100 grants for teaching supplies and will send the application to Superintendent Cook. Parent Denise Lons praised the Lakeside Learning online program, saying her daughter will be eligible for a 13th year program and is on track to earn an associate degree upon graduation; she said the program benefits students with IEPs.
Administrators also noted community support for classroom projects, including donations to the Geometry in Construction class patio project from Lester Brothers, Willbee Transit Mix, and Mark Carpenter Concrete.
