Chris Beushausen, the high school drama teacher, told the board that the Blue Bison Theatre Player Troupe 11980 "is seeking approval to conduct fundraising efforts to support student participation in the Michigan Thespian Conference in December," and to cover costs such as a live pit, Tech Week food and individual costume needs. He said fundraising would help ensure "all interested students can participate without financial barriers."
President Denise Churchill moved to approve the fundraising request and Vanessa Thun seconded; the board recorded "All ayes" and the motion carried. The proceeds will be deposited to the Student Activity Account and the request proposed using the TeamFI platform to collect donations during upcoming performances of "The Wizard of Oz." The approval follows the district’s practice of routing such activity through the student account to preserve transparency and oversight.
