Monroe expands BookNook tutoring and seeks state grant to fund extended-day supports

Andrea told the board that BookNook, a high-impact tutoring partner piloted over the summer, showed measurable gains: "we saw students grow an average of 10% in each of those over the 24 sessions," she said, and the district plans to expand the program to grades 3–8.
District staff also said they submitted a state out-of-school-time grant the same day to secure funding for extended-day programming and summer opportunities. Andrea said the grant would allow the district to serve more students and hire additional teachers and interventionists to deliver those supports during intervention and enrichment blocks.
