Board ratifies bus-driver tentative agreement removing probationary period language

The board ratified a tentative agreement between Monroe Public Schools and the Monroe bus drivers effective July 1, 2024. Mrs. Flynn presented the TA and explained that earlier discussion had proposed removing the probationary period; a board member had requested language be added back, but that language is not in the TA presented for ratification.
"The TA that I'm giving you is the removal of the probationary period... and that is no longer on the TA that we proposed tonight that we're showing you," Mrs. Flynn said. A board member moved to approve the TA, and the board approved it by roll call.
Board members thanked staff for the bargaining work; the motion passed and staff will implement terms per the TA effective July 1.
