Board notes bullying complaint and memorial attendance; shares committee schedule and event dates

During the communications portion of the Jan. 6 meeting, Board Member Heather Farr reported receiving a written complaint regarding bullying and JoAnn Schneider reported attending the memorial for former teacher and athletic director Mike Humphrey.
The board then confirmed committee meeting schedules: Personnel will meet the Tuesday before the board meeting at 6:30 a.m.; Curriculum will meet the Friday prior at 6:30 a.m.; Buildings & Grounds/Public Relations will meet the Monday the week of the board meeting at 6:30 a.m.; Finance will meet the Tuesday the week of the board meeting at 6:30 a.m.; Grievance meetings will occur as needed. The board asked members to return committee selection requests.
The board set a retreat for March 13, 2026, and noted that the National Honor Society induction ceremony is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m.; RSVPs are directed to Torie Ray at tray2@svsd.us. President Robert Aldrich adjourned the meeting at 7:33 p.m.
