Swan Valley board unanimously elects officers for 2026

At a special meeting Jan. 6, the Swan Valley School District Board of Education unanimously elected Robert Aldrich president, Kevin Shanks vice president, Heather Farr secretary and Dana Raymond treasurer for 2026 and confirmed its regular meeting dates.
Robert Aldrich was elected president of the Swan Valley School District Board of Education during a special meeting Jan. 6 at the Marvin L. Johnson Administration Center.
JoAnn Schneider moved that Aldrich act as chair for the officer election, and Schneider's motion, seconded by Heather Farr, passed. Schneider then nominated Aldrich for president; the board voted 6–0 to elect him. Schneider nominated Kevin Shanks for vice president (seconded by Dana Raymond); the board elected Shanks 6–0. Raymond nominated Heather Farr for secretary (seconded by Michael Wenzel); the board elected Farr 6–0. Farr nominated Raymond for treasurer (seconded by Wenzel); the board elected Raymond 6–0.
The election items were presented as part of the superintendent's office portion of the agenda. The board also established its regular monthly meeting schedule for 2026, with meetings generally set for the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and the first 2027 meeting scheduled for Jan. 21, 2027, at Swan Valley Middle School.
Board President Robert Aldrich called the mission statement before business continued. The organizational votes were recorded as unanimous throughout the session.
