The Longwood University Board of Visitors voted unanimously to name the university’s new music building Lettie Pate Whitehead Hall, and to name the building’s atrium for longtime music professors Charlie and Lisa Kinzer.
President W. Taylor Reveley IV said the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation "has been a great friend to Longwood since 1982 with gifts of almost $10 million in value," and that the foundation has committed to increasing annual giving by $100,000 to support doubling scholarship funding for music students. Charles Fagan moved the naming motion and Kathryn Roberts seconded; the board approved the motion unanimously.
