At a special board retreat on Feb. 25, 2026, the Otsego Public Schools Board of Education reviewed the district's Strategic Plan (2022'2027) and discussed standards-based learning as part of a district update. Superintendent Dr. Christie Robinson led the update and reported on a recent visit to Caledonia Middle School''"it was exciting to see the students engaged with the hands-on-learning," she said.
Board members framed the retreat around the plan's three goals: raising student achievement (including ensuring graduates leave with defined educational or career plans), strengthening school climate and culture, and supporting student well-being by knowing "every student by name, strength and need." The board also connected the strategic-plan discussion to professional development and data use covered in a MASB training session earlier in the meeting. No formal policy changes or votes on plan language were recorded at the retreat.
