Superintendent reports mold work, bus disposals and staffing updates

Superintendent Mr. Leach provided a series of operational updates to the Dundee Community Schools Board on Sept. 8. He reported an update on a mold situation in district facilities, said improvements were made to the HVAC system, and noted that four district buses have been sold for scrap.
Mr. Leach also told the board the district has used four of its six allotted inclement weather days, that staffing including mental health positions is in place, and that state approval for Free & Reduced Lunch eligibility "may not be approved by the state," a point Mr. Leach presented without additional detail or a state citation. Board members were encouraged to contact state Sen. Belino about the pending state budget for 2025-26.
