Board members described Lorain County Community College's participation in the statewide Innovative Waiver program, noting the college offers 53 courses and five credentials tied to industry-recognized certifications. Commissioner Jeff Ridell said preparing for an aging and retiring workforce over the next five to six years will require internships, retraining programs and scholarships to connect residents to those training pathways.
