District announces high school principal transition effective Oct. 31; interim co-principal model planned

Superintendent Dr. Berthiaume informed the board that the high school principal will leave effective Oct. 31, and the district will implement an interim co-principal model while it re-envisions the high school administrative team.
Dr. Berthiaume said the structure is intended to be interim and will be reassessed in April 2026; formal personnel recommendations for transfers and roles will be presented at the November board meeting. He reiterated a preference for promoting from within when candidates are the right fit and qualified.
The board did not take a formal vote on a permanent replacement at the Oct. 13 meeting; staff will bring formal recommendations to the November meeting for board action.
