Advancement reports stronger giving, Day of Giving set for February

Courtney Hodges, vice president for institutional advancement, updated the Board on fundraising progress and alumni engagement. Hodges said annual giving is "off to a strong start," announced the Day of Giving (replacing 'Love Your Longwood Day') to launch in February, and emphasized scholarships as a fundraising priority.
Hodges provided numbers on scholarship yield over time: in 2015 scholarships yielded $1.4 million; in 2020 the yield was $1.7 million; and in 2024 the yield was $3.2 million, a 125% increase over the last decade. She also said seven of eight endowed chairs have received matching gifts thus far and that alumni feedback from Homecoming and other events has been largely positive.
