Board hears memorial for student and updates on mental-health resources

The Board paused to remember Jasmine Gullixon ’26, who "passed away tragically just before Thanksgiving Break," Vice President for Student Affairs Cameron Patterson said on Dec. 5. Patterson said students and faculty in the art department are planning a display of Gullixon’s artwork and that university staff have been supporting those affected.
Patterson also reported that mental-health services continue to be used in varied ways — including well-being clinics, single-session therapy, and crisis intervention support — and noted student civic engagement with about 500 students from Longwood and Hampden–Sydney registering for same-day voting on Election Day.
