Board previews Janet Nash Preserve master plan, votes to seek student input

Tim Furtaw, director of facilities, introduced Tonya Moore of Spicer Engineering, who showed 3D still images and a short video of a proposed master plan for the Janet Nash Preserve. Moore said the design team began with three concepts and narrowed them to one option that fit the draft budget. Trustees discussed signage, relocating trees near utility wires and displaying students' artwork in the preserve.
Vice President Janet Nash moved — and Treasurer Ruth Ann Knapp supported — a motion "to wait until we get some more information from the students at Saginaw United High School and get their input." A voice vote carried: "Ayes: 4 Nays: 0- Motion Carried." The board directed staff to gather student feedback before taking further steps on the preserve plan.
