The Port Huron Area School District Board on Dec. 15 approved two procurement items for school food-service and cafeteria infrastructure: two mobile salad-bar counters from Gold Star Products for $111,464.32 and cafeteria tables and graphics for five elementary schools from Ingenious Culinary Concepts for $467,837.00.
Member Partipilo moved—and Member Totty supported—approval of the mobile counters purchase, which the minutes record as costing $111,464.32. CFO Kate Peternel addressed board questions before the vote, which passed unanimously (Yeas: 6 Nays: 0). The board separately approved the purchase of cafeteria tables and graphics for Keewahdin, Michigamme, Garfield, Indian Woods and Roosevelt elementary schools for $467,837.00 on a unanimous vote.
Board discussion is recorded as questions directed to CFO Peternel; the minutes do not provide verbatim board-member remarks. The procurements are recorded in the minutes with vendor names and total contract amounts and will be processed through the district's purchasing procedures.
