The Pennfield Schools Board of Education elected Dawn Forton as board president at its organizational meeting on Jan. 13, 2026. The nomination for Forton was made by board member Stephen Herbstreith and seconded by Tim Wood; the motion carried on a roll-call vote with seven yeas and no nays.
After Forton assumed the chair, she nominated Stephen Herbstreith for vice president; the nomination, seconded by Brad Crandall, passed by roll-call vote 7-0. At the same meeting the board also elected Tim Wood as treasurer and Sarah Jones as secretary by unanimous roll-call votes. The board conducted each election by roll-call and recorded individual votes for the minutes.
The officer elections were part of a standard organizational agenda that also included annual designations and approvals. The board recessed the elections and proceeded with recognitions and the consent agenda following the officer votes.
