Alexandria board certifies $17.83 million property tax levy for 2026

The Alexandria Public School District Board of Education certified a $17,828,939.77 property tax levy for 2025 payable 2026 during its Dec. 15 regular meeting. Board member Tracy Capistrant moved to certify the levy and Shawn Reilly seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
The levy was recorded with a fund-by-fund breakdown the board approved: General Fund $9,960,495.07; Community Service Fund $672,690.45; Debt Service Fund $6,501,824.09; and OPEB Debt Service Fund $693,930.16. The certification followed an administrative presentation on the proposed 2024 payable 2025 levy and a public opportunity for testimony recorded by the board.
