A West Campus student told the Otsego Public Schools Board of Education on Feb. 10 that she struggled with school before enrolling at West Campus and now will graduate early.
The student said she had not cared about schoolwork previously and "thought I would not be graduating on time," and credited West Campus teacher Steve Long and paraprofessional Janine Boling for supporting her progress. Superintendent Dr. Christie Robinson introduced Mr. Long before the student spoke.
Mr. Long noted the program's small size, saying there "are 18 students who attend West Campus," and framed the school's individualized setting as a factor in the student's turnaround. The board acknowledged the presentation during the recognition portion of the meeting.
